My Story
My Creative Journey
I was born in Saudi Arabia, but my family moved to Canada when I was just four years old. Growing up in Mississauga was amazing, and I spent most of my childhood playing outside with the neighborhood kids and exploring the forest with wild animals. I loved climbing trees and playing soccer.
As I got older, I started watching crime mysteries and playing chess with my uncle. I also fell in love with puzzles and was fascinated by learning new things. In high school, I discovered basketball and managed to balance my time between homework and playing on the team.
When Covid-19 hit during my grade 11 year, I had more time to read and study, which helped me get closer to my family. I also developed a passion for math, chemistry, and physics and was determined to finish my homework every day. My Calc/Math teacher was very strict, but she pushed me to work harder and take school more seriously, which helped me in my academic career.
Now I'm in my second year of studying Civil Engineering at York University. The transition from high school to university was challenging, but I'm adjusting well. When I'm not studying, I attend different school events around campus, such as the hackathon, where we form groups and find solutions to real-world problems.
In the future, I want to help Canada improve its infrastructure, especially public transportation, which I believe is lagging behind other countries. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, playing basketball, playing chess / puzzle games and helping my family around the house. I believe in working hard and pushing past my limits and always try to be respectful and greet others with a smile. My advice to anyone would be to have an open mindset, be patient with others, and always work a little harder than yesterday.
